| Derek Hatton, in a recent article in Stage, the number one entertainment magazine, was described by top agent and producer Johnny Mans as "the best after dinner speaker in the country." Mr Hatton has become one of the country’s most popular after dinner speakers with his repertoire of highly amusing stories, culminating in an entertaining question and answer session. Corporate Business, Conference Organisers, Celebrity Dinners, Football Clubs, Golf Clubs etc. are all increasingly using his services. "We were extremely happy with the way in which we were entertained and I was particularly impressed by your handling of the Question Time and for many who were present this has removed some of the tags which were associated with Derek Hatton." David Ledger, President, Leicestershire Chamber of Commerce and Industry "I have to say that there was some initial trepidation from some of the older members at the thought of your appearance, but this was much dispelled when we listened to and enjoyed your excellent speech. Thank you for making it such a memorable evening." David Crane, Chairman, Society of Chartered Accountants – Isle of Man During the 80’s Derek Hatton quickly became the well known voice of Liverpool on a variety of issues and his local popularity ensured that he never lost an election, in fact it took the House of Lords to finally remove him from office. He appeared regularly on television, not only across the table from Margaret Thatcher and most of her cabinet, but also Neil Kinnock and much of the leadership of the Labour Party. Whilst Derek recalls very amusing stories from this period he no longer holds any Party Political allegiances. After his trials and tribulations, Derek emerged as a highly successful Media Personality appearing regularly on virtually every chat show and quiz show on Radio and Television. He now runs his own Public Affairs Company and is a popular radio presenter. He is still adept at debating and is often invited to participate at both Oxford and Cambridge Union Debating Societies. He regularly appears in charity football and golf matches, and is a fanatical Everton supporter.
"An engaging after dinner speaker, his tales of political intrigue were indeed and eye opener, and the question and answer session which followed provided a perfect opportunity for anyone to ‘have a go’. Our guests seemed to relish the opportunity and the banter." Richard Webb, Director of Advertising, News International Newspapers. |
