Sport has always played a significant role in family life and her eldest brother Clive was a professional boxer and cousin, Chris Eubank is former 19 times professional World Boxing Champion. Her eldest sister Doreen was a former singer in the Manchester pop group, Simply Red and the lead singer in the group Distant Cousins. Diane married the half Norwegian, half Spanish former athlete Vicente Modahl (her coach & agent) in Manchester on 19th September 1992. On 8th October 1995 their daughter Imani-Diane was born, the name Imani was chosen because it means ‘hope’ in Swahili. Diane had a brief modelling career with the Manchester Model Agency but later decided to concentrate upon her media and athletic career. Sports Honours - Commonwealth Champion
