Gary began his telephone career at 18, as a collector for a financial company. At 19, he became a telemarketer and manager with Time/Life. Phone work supported him through college. His B.A. & M.A. are from Cal State, Northridge, and his Ph.D. was earned at at The Annenberg School For Communication at USC. He also studied two and one-half years with Peter F.
