Kevin Woodford, BA (Hons), MHCIMA, Cert ED

Celebrity Chef, Presenter, Actor, Producer.

Kevin Woodford - Celebrity ChefTake a vibrant personality, excellent communication skills and a pinch of cheeky charm and you have the recipe for Kevin Woodford’s success.

Following a career in some of the world’s most renowned kitchens, Kevin was appointed as a lecturer in professional cookery. He rapidly rose through the ranks and after gaining a Higher Degree at Hull University, was appointed as the youngest Head of Department at one of England’s biggest and most prestigious colleges.

A career in the media soon beckoned and Kevin first hit the screens on ITV's ‘This Morning’ programme before the BBC tempted him to join them.

His relaxed style, immense skill and ability to communicate at all levels brought him acclaim on ‘The Reluctant Cook’, ‘Big Kevin Little Kevin’, ‘Ready Steady Cook’ and ‘Can't Cook, Won't Cook’, - for which he was voted Best Daytime Television Presenter at The National Television Awards.

Kevin also starred in 64 half hour episodes of ITV’s ‘Surprise Chefs’, and has recently hosted 13 episodes of ITV’s ‘Reality Bites’. His popularity with viewers also led to Kevin becoming a regular presenter on BBC’s ‘Holiday’ programme and he co-presented ‘Summer Holiday’, with Jill Dando.

Other successful BBC series followed such as ‘Fasten your Seatbelt’ in which Kevin assumed the roles of a taxi driver in New York, entertainer aboard a cruise ship, concierge at The Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Hong Kong, a deckhand on a Caribbean tall ship and a children's holiday rep in Spain.

Kevin has travelled to even more far flung places reporting for the popular BBC TV series 'Holiday'.

In addition, Kevin successfully hosted BBC One's live ‘The Heaven and Earth Show’ for over 2 years, tackling many sensitive social issues and effortlessly interviewing such ‘A list’ celebrities as Sir John Mills, Jimmy Tarbuck, Gabrielle, Chris de Burgh and Moby. He was also a regular presenter for BBC’s hugely popular show ‘Songs of Praise’

Indeed, Michael Aspel paid a ‘This is Your Life’ tribute to Kevin whilst he was playing the part of Robert Hale in the BBC series ‘Doctors’ and he continued his development in drama by playing Watkins in ‘Hollyoaks’

Kevin's sense of fun makes him a regular guest on many leading light entertainment shows, including Lily Savage's Blankety Blank, Through the Keyhole, Countdown, Celebrity Weakest Link and The National Lottery Show, Saturday Night Fever, Bob Monkhouse's Birthday Tribute, Ian Wrights ‘Hidden Talents’, Eastenders Revealed and the Tracy Beaker Show.

He enjoys appearing live on stage and recently played Baron Hardup in Cinderella with Danny la Rue at the Swan Theatre, for which he received rave reviews for his comic timing.

Kevin has published 9 books including 4 best sellers and is the only chef in Europe to have had a set of stamps issued and approved by Her Majesty the Queen, in honour of his dishes.

Kevin’s company has been involved in the research and development of the ground breaking new children’s cookery adventure series ‘Planet Cook’. Commissioned by the BBC, it promotes a healthy and adventurous attitude to family eating. In addition, he is currently co-producing the series and playing the lead character, Captain Cook, in this 104 part children’s adventure drama, which is already receiving popular acclaim.
