Rhiannon has been described as ‘a businesswoman and HR guru’, who for over a decade has held a number of significant appointments as an independent chairman and director on boards in both the public and private sectors. She is a very experienced broadcaster, conference speaker, workshop leader and writer on business management issues.
As a speaker, Rhiannon Chapman tells it like it is. Her extensive, practical exposure to business management issues at all levels, qualifies her to ‘show the scars’, as she puts it. She speaks with passion, humour and insight, in a down-to-earth way that business audiences readily identify with. Her radio and television appearances have included ‘Question Time’, ‘Any Questions’, Women’s Hour, Business Breakfast and being interviewed by Jimmy Young about business ethics.
She is a well-established expert in leading and implementing change in a wide range of organisations and has led radical turnarounds, set up a number of ‘green field’ businesses and played a leading part in pioneering national initiatives.
A Companion of the Chartered Management Institute, she is currently chairing the CMI’s working party on Human Capital Management and Reporting - arguably the most significant development in the field of management in this decade.
January 2005 - Rhiannon has taken up an initial 3-year advisory
appointment with the Society of British Aerospace Companies (SBAC), to
establish a new agenda for the UK's aerospace industry on People & Skills.
Rhiannon was formerly Chief Executive of the Industrial Society and, for the previous 10 years, HR Director of the London Stock Exchange, following an earlier HR career in the electronics industry. She is a law graduate and a Fellow of the CIPD. She was an early member of the Employment Tribunals (then known as Industrial Tribunals) and has been a member of the Employment Appeal Tribunal (making her, in effect, a High Court judge) for nearly 14 years. She was the first External Reviewer of Complaints for the Teacher Training Agency and has been a member of the judging panel for the Veuve Clicquot Businesswoman of the Year, the National Training Awards and a number of other national and corporate awards schemes. |
